Stab wound prevents Swindon man from attending court to answer charge

A stab wound has prevented a man from attending court to answer a charge.

Zak Nicholson was due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Wednesday, 28 September) – but failed to turn up.

The 22-year-old defendant, of Jennings Street, Rodbourne, is accused of being in possession of cannabis on 8 June this year.

In the afternoon, his solicitor Tony Nowogrodzki revealed that his client was unable to attend due to an infected stab wound which requires treatment.

He asked for the case to be adjourned for a second time – after it was moved from 7 September on medical grounds.

District Judge Joanna Dickens adjourned the case until 8 October. The Nicholson remains on unconditional bail.
