Man dies in Trowbridge pub tragedy as air ambulance lands in council car park

A man has tragically died at a pub in Trowbridge, despite the best efforts of medics.

Emergency services raced to The Lamb Inn following a report of a casualty suffering a medical episode at around 5pm yesterday (Saturday, 10 September).

At the height of the incident, there were an array of blue lights lining Mortimer Street as first responders attempted to revive the critically ill man.

Specialist medics were called upon, with Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance touching down in a Wiltshire Council-owned car park off Bythesea Road.

Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, the man – aged in his 70s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiltshire Police confirmed there are “no suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time”, a force spokesperson said.
