Swindon couple accused of having ‘significant role’ in the supply of drugs

A couple deny their involvement in the supply of class A and B drugs in Swindon.

Bilal Uddin, 28, and Ana Cardaso, 22, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 24 August.

The co-defendants pleaded not guilty to two charges of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis between 1 January 2019 and 5 May 2020.

Asha Seenauth, prosecuting, said the “charges speak for themselves”, adding that it is the Crown’s case that they had a “significant role and were dealing directly to users”.

She said the pair face a lengthy prison sentence if found guilty of the crimes – with a starting point of four and a half years.

Magistrates deemed the case too serious and sent it to Swindon Crown Court.

Uddin, of Broad Street, and Cardaso, of Devizes Road, will next appear at that court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on 23 September.

They were both related on unconditional bail.
