Police investigate car blaze labelled as possible arson attack by firefighters

An investigation has been launched following a suspected arson attack on a vehicle in Swindon late last night, according to Wiltshire Police.

Firefighters from Swindon Fire Station were called to the serious car blaze, on Groves Street, Rodbourne, at around 11.15pm yesterday, Tuesday 16 November.

Police officers were called to the scene shortly afterwards, and an investigation was launched into the cause of the fire.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called by the fire service at approximately 11.15pm last night to a report of a car on fire in Groves Street, Swindon.

“It is believed the car – a Ford Mondeo – had been set on fire deliberately.”
