Two air ambulances land in Swindon park as woman found with serious head injury

Two air ambulances landed in Swindon town centre after a woman was found seriously hurt.

Emergency services, including several ambulances, were called to the scene in the Church Place area of the Railway Village at around 5pm today (Tuesday, 5 July).

A woman in her 50s was found with a significant head injury and was rushed to Great Western Hospital, where she is said to be a serious condition.

Alongside local medics, critical care crews from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance attended the incident – landing in Faringdon Park.

Detectives are currently at the location, investigating whether or not the woman’s injuries were caused by an assault.

“Enquiries are currently ongoing to ascertain whether or not a crime has taken place”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.

Adding: “Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 240 of today.”
