Runaway Collie dog found dead after being hit by car on A419 in Swindon

A black and white Collie dog which ran away from its owner during last night’s fireworks has been found dead on the A419 in Swindon this afternoon.

Wiltshire police officers attended the devastating scene at around 3pm to retrieve the pup from the central reservation near the Blunsdon junction.

It’s understood that the dog’s name was Bradley.

There have since been calls to ban the sale of fireworks to everyone but trained professionals, in a bid to stop animals being frightened during the firework season.
