Wiltshire service station closed as fire crews respond to ‘smell of smoke’

A Wiltshire service station has been closed after staff smelt smoke in the store.

Several fire crews are attending Tesco Express, which hosts an Esso fuel station, in Hungerdown Lane, Chippenham, this morning (9 June).

The service station has been closed whilst firefighters investigate the smell of smoke.

Four fire engines from Chippenham, Devizes and Trowbridge, were initially in attendance.

Due to the fact there was no sign of a fire, two crews were stood down. Two crews from Chippenham remain on the scene to investigate the cause.
