Man suffers head injuries in serious early morning attack in Swindon town centre

A number of police officers were seen guarding a large crime scene in Swindon town centre during the early hours of this morning, following a serious assault.

The scene, erected on Bridge Street near the British Heart Foundation shop, is where an altercation happened at around 2.30am today, Sunday 29 October.

A man in his 20s was assaulted by two other men leaving the victim unconscious; he was rushed to the Great Western Hospital with head injuries.

Both suspects, who have not yet been identified by police, are described as white, in their early 20s, approximately 5ft 4in tall and of medium build.

The injured man was wearing a cream t-shirt, green khaki coloured trousers and black training shoes.

Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen those involved before or after the incident, the assault itself or have information about this incident to contact Swindon CID on 101 or information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
