Swindon man dies at scene of A350 crash and elderly passenger seriously injured

A 48-year-old Swindon man has died after his car collided with a lorry near Melksham.

The crash happened at around 1.15pm yesterday afternoon, on the A350 at Beanacre.

The other occupant of the car – a 79-year-old woman – suffered serious injuries and was flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by air ambulance.

The road was closed for around seven hours for investigation and recovery work.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101.
