Report of suspicious activity leads police to “large” cannabis factory in Swindon

A cannabis factory by police responding to reports of suspicious activity in Swindon.

Officers attended an address in Coleview after information was received about “suspected drugs activity” yesterday afternoon (Monday, 2 May).

At the property in Glevum Road, they discovered a large number of cannabis plants.

Today, police remain at the scene whilst forensic investigation work takes place and the plants are removed.

Wiltshire Police say they are working with the fire service and an electricity provider to ensure the building is safe.

The force said that there is “no reason to believe there is any risk to the public”.

An investigation has been launched but is said to be at an “early stage”, and no arrests have been made.
