Swindon man charged with collecting more than 25,000 vile visuals of children

A Swindon man is due to appear in court charged with possessing indecent images of children.

Alan Alexander Joseph, 61, is accused of collecting more than 25,000 vile visuals involving young children between January 2018 and May 2021.

The defendant, of Caxton Close, Park South, is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, 20 April).

It’s alleged that Joseph possessed 21 category A (involving penetrative sexual activity), six category B (non-penetrative sexual activity) and 25,733 category C images (indecent images not falling within categories A or B).

He’s also accused of possessing twelve prohibited images of a child, which do not fall within the aforementioned categories.
