Trial date set for 17-year-old boy accused of stabbing Swindon man to death

A trial date has been set for a teenage boy accused of stabbing a man to death in Swindon.

Lee Turner, 33, died after suffering a knife wound in an attack in The Venny, Pinehurst, in October 2021.

A 17-year-old boy has today (4 April) appeared before Bristol Crown Court charged with his murder. He is also charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

Judge William Hart will take preside over the trial – which is due to take place from 11 April.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is remanded in custody at Parc Prison in Wales.

In a tribute released at the time of his death, Lee’s family said: “Lee will be dearly missed.

“We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support, which have brought us comfort during this sad time.”
