Wiltshire man found with hundreds of indecent images of children – including babies

A Wiltshire man was found with hundreds of indecent images of youngsters, a court heard.

Oscar Holley, 22, pleaded guilty to possessing more than 1,200 indecent photographs of children – including newborn babies as young as just a few days old.

Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (30 March), the defendant, of Wisteria House, Dauntsey, near Lyneham, spoke only to confirm his name and address.

His solicitor Mr Newton confirmed his client wishes to enter guilty pleas to all charges.

Holley was found with 196 category A (involving penetrative sexual activity), 528 category B (non-penetrative sexual activity) and 550 category C images (indecent images not falling within categories A or B).

Natalie Cheeseman, prosecuting, told the court that the case is not suitable for the magistrates’ court and asked for the defendant to be sent to Swindon Crown Court for sentencing.

“Many of the images are of children aged zero to six months, which makes the matter much more serious”, she said.

Adding: “Looking at the sentencing guidelines, one single image carries a range of 26 weeks to three years in custody, and that’s for just one.

“It’s likely we will be making an application for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order”.

Mr Newton asked the court to order a pre-sentence report (PSR).

Magistrates ordered a PSR sent the case to Swindon Crown Court in April.

Holley was released bail and must register as a sex offender at Melksham Police Station within the next 72 hours.
