Arrest warrant issued for Swindon man, 24, convicted of two knife offences

A man due to be sentenced for two knife offences has failed to attend court.

Liam Ryan Skinner, 24, was due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (21 March).

The defendant, of Cricklade Road, Swindon, was due to be sentenced for two counts of possessing a bladed article in a public place.

He was convicted of the two offences, which occurred on 30 December last year and 12 January this year, at the same court on 13 January.

Defence solicitor Charlotte Frizzell told the justices that she left a voicemail for her client, but says she has “not heard anything from him, unfortunately”.

Keith Ballinger, prosecuting, asked for a warrant without bail.

Magistrates granted the application. Police will now be tasked with locating and arresting Skinner and putting him before the next available court.
