Police talk suicidal woman down from edge of multi-storey car park in Swindon

A woman has been brought down from a tall building in Swindon town centre.

Police responded to reports of a person on the edge of the Brunel West multi-storey car park in Farnsby Street in the early hours of this morning (9 March)

Officers rushed to the top of the building and located a woman. They engaged with her and were able to bring her down safely.

The whole incident is understood to have lasted around 30 minutes, and it’s not clear whether the road was closed during that time.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed that they responded to a “call regarding a concern for the welfare of a woman at the Brunel West car park” at around 12.40am today.

Adding that officers “engaged with the woman and the situation was resolved safely”.
