Arrests made in Chippenham after men ‘found with drugs, knife and gun’ in vehicle

Two men have been arrested after drugs, a knife and a gun were found during a traffic stop.

Police officers stopped a BMW near Snap Fitness gym in Audley Road, Chippenham, at around 2.15pm on Sunday afternoon (6 March).

A thorough search of the occupants and the vehicle was undertaken, uncovering a stash of class A drugs – believed to be crack cocaine.

A knife and an imitation firearm were also discovered, leading to the arrest of two passengers – understood to live in the Chippenham area – who were travelling in the car.

A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, possession of a bladed article in a public place and having an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Another 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

Wiltshire Police have confirmed that the pair were taken to Melksham police station and remain in custody.
