Numerous police vehicles were also spotted at the incident – as officers provided first aid, closed the road and spoke to witnesses.

Initial reports on social media suggested a car and a motorbike were involved, however, it has since transpired that they were assisting at the medical emergency.

Despite the best efforts of medics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiltshire Police confirmed they were called to a “medical episode”.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner”, a spokesperson for the force said.

They added: “Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.”
