Swindon man pleads guilty to drink driving after three-vehicle Old Town crash

Man admits drink driving after a three-vehicle road traffic collision in Swindon.

Emergency services attended the scene in Victoria Road at around 11.20pm on Sunday night (20 February).

Ross Pontin, 32, of Stratton Road, Swindon, was charged with driving a vehicle when above the alcohol limit and possession of a class C drug.

Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (21 February), he pleaded guilty to driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed alcohol limit.

He also admitted being in possession of a Class C drug.

Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report and Pontin was released on unconditional bail.

He will next appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 21 March for sentence.
