Man banned from contacting woman after she suffers knife injury in Trowbridge incident

A man has been banned from contacting a woman after a domestic incident in Trowbridge.

Shannon Culleton, 21, was rushed to hospital with a knife injury to her side following a disturbance at an address in Fleece Cottages last Wednesday (2 February).

Wiltshire Police, ambulance crews and Wiltshire Air Ambulance were all tasked to the scene, but the woman’s injuries were later deemed to be minor and she was discharged from hospital.

Muhanad Abdulraheem Dafaalah, 19, was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm but the suspect was later released without charge.

Following the concerning incident, the force applied to Salisbury Magistrates’ Court for a domestic violence protection order (DVPO).

The order was granted by chief magistrate Katharine Birks for 28 days, and it prohibits Dafaalah from molesting Ms Culleton or contacting her directly or indirectly.

He is also banned from entering or attempting to enter her address in Salisbury or travelling past her home – on foot, in a vehicle or by any other means.

Whilst a DVPO is not a criminal conviction in itself, breaching it can result in arrest and prosecution.
