Firefighters cut casualty free from wrecked car after Wiltshire countryside crash

Firefighters have cut a casualty free from a car in the Wiltshire countryside.

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle on the A342 Devizes Road at around 6am this morning (1 February).

The road was closed between Devizes and Sandy Lane for around two hours, but it has since reopened.

The patient isn’t believed to have suffered any serious injuries, but they have been taken to hospital for further treatment.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Services sent crews from Calne and Devizes fire stations to the incident.

Working together with the ambulance service the casualty was released using holmatro cutting equipment and transferred the hospital”, a spokesperson said.
