Wiltshire Police ‘engaging with travellers’ after group move onto industrial estate

A group of travellers have moved onto land on West Wilts Industrial Estate.

Wiltshire Police say the incursion took place in Commerce Close, in Westbury, last night (26 January).

A spokesperson for the force confirmed local officers are in communication with the group and the landowner to try and disperse them.

“We are aware of a group of travellers who gained access to land on Commerce Close last night”, a spokesperson said.

Adding: “The group comprises of two caravans and two trucks. It is not believed that any criminal damage has been committed to access the grounds.

“Our officers are engaging with the group and the landowner and we appreciate the cooperation of local businesses while we resolve this matter.”
