42-year-old man arrested after two-car crash on B4042 near Royal Wootton Bassett

A man’s been arrested following a two-car crash near Royal Wootton Bassett.

Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision on the B4042 at around 7pm yesterday evening (23 January).

It happened about 250 metres from Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club, near the junction with the B4696 towards Ashton Keynes.

Wiltshire Police has since confirmed a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in police custody

“The driver of one of the vehicles involved was taken to Great Western Hospital, Swindon to be treated for injuries which are not described as life threatening”, a spokesperson for the force said.

Adding: “The road was closed until about 10.30pm last night.

“A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and is currently in police custody.”
