A man has died after he fell from a bridge of the M4 motorway today.
The incident happened at around 10.30am, between junctions 17 and 18.
Motorists travelling towards Bristol from Wiltshire are advised to expect delays and may wish to find an alternative route. 
The westbound carriageway between J17 Chippenham and J18 Bath is closed but motorists can re-join the westbound carriageway at J18.
The eastbound carriageway is unaffected and remains open.
A police spokesperson said: “We have closed the westbound carriageway of the M4 near to junction 18 following reports that a man has jumped or fallen from a bridge over the motorway. The man has sadly died at the scene.”
