Swindon man, 25, charged with two offences after biker killed in crash

A Swindon man has been charged with two offences after a biker was killed in a crash.

Jack Robson, 66, died when his motorcycle was involved in a collision with a white Mitsubishi in Highworth Road, close to The Rat Trap public house, on 25 May 2020.

One year and seven months on, Alexander Baker, 25, has been charged with two offences:

• Being concerned in the supply of cocaine in Swindon between 16 April and 25 May 2020

• Causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving on 25 May 2020

The defendant, of Ashie Close, Sparcells, is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning (19 January).

At the time of the fatal crash, Jack’s wife Christine released this touching tribute: “My dearest husband, dad, granddad, great granddad who was taken away from us so tragically on Sunday 25th May 2020.

“You have been taken from us, our hearts are all broken. Jack was a very caring, doting, kind, gentle soul who had a wicked sense of humour!

“Thank you for making us want to make this world a better place. We are all absolutely devastated, you have left a huge void in our lives.

“We love you so much R.I.P.”
