Great Western Air Ambulance lands as man collapses on North Swindon footpath

Great Western Air Ambulance has landed in North Swindon for a serious medical incident.

South Western Ambulance Service were called to reports of a person collapsing on a footpath in Redhouse at around 12.30pm today (16 January).

The casualty, a man, is understood to have suffered a medical episode and required advanced care from specialist medics.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was unable at the time of the call, as the team were attending  a medical incident in Leigh, in north Wiltshire.

Great Western Air Ambulance, based in Bristol, was tasked and landed in Buscot Place playing field, off Buscot Close.

The patient received emergency care before being stabilised and taken to hospital by land ambulance.

At 2pm, the medics returned to the helicopter and it left the scene.
