Wiltshire Search and Rescue spotted in Longleat Forest as part of training exercise

Wiltshire Search and Rescue volunteers are likely to be spotted in Longleat Forest as they undertake a training exercise.

This morning (Sunday, 31 October), it’s thought more than a dozen people wearing red jackets will be partaking in a planned search around the woodland.

“From 10am our volunteers will be training in Longleat forest, practising vital skills such as communication and navigation alongside search techniques,” a spokesperson for the life-saving charity said.

Adding: “You might see them on foot and you might also see our vehicles too.

“Learning how to search in woodland is a core part of all our training.

On Facebook, Swindon resident Ian Lawrence advised: “Please don’t climb any fences, unless they are on lion tamer training!”
