Two people arrested after man, 18, left with life-threatening injuries in A429 crash

Two people have been arrested after a serious crash north of Malmesbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A429 between Crudwell and Kemble shortly after 9pm on Friday evening (15 October).

Whilst limited information has been released by the police, Wiltshire 999s understands the collision involved two vehicles. One of them was a car containing three young male occupants.

An 18-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries, with two other young males from the same vehicle believe to have been taken to hospital.

A 36-year-old woman and a 56-year-old man from Kemble were arrested on suspicion of driving drink driving, perverting the course of justice and causing injury by dangerous driving.

Both suspects have been released under investigation.

The road was closed for around ten hours whilst collision investigation work was underway and the vehicles were recovered.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Anyone who may have been driving on the A429 at around 9.15pm on the evening of the incident should contact us on 101 quoting log 295 of Friday (15/10).

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have recorded dashcam footage at the time.”
