Woman claims ‘it’s always Staffordshire bull terriers that attack’ after Salisbury incident

A woman claimed ‘it’s always Staffordshire bull terriers that attack’ after an incident in Salisbury.

The local resident, who didn’t want her surname published, said she was walking her spaniel in Churchill Gardens, near Wiltshire College, at around 1.15pm today (14 October).

It’s alleged a Staffie, being walked by a woman, then launched towards her, attacking her dog.

The small spaniel luckily escaped injuries, despite the Staffie pulling its owner to the floor during the worrying incident.

Talking to Wiltshire 999s, she said: “My dog miraculously doesn’t seem to have any injuries which I’m very surprised about.

“She didn’t seem to have a good grasp on the lead whilst she was on the floor so I just wanted to get away I was so frightened the dog was going to break away and come after us.

“I just wanted to get my dog out of there quickly, we were so shaken up.”

Natalie says not all Staffies are sweet like the ones she has met previously.

“I know there are exceptions and I have known a couple of sweet Staffies“, she remarked. Adding: “But it’s always the Staffies that attack. You never hear of the vicious retriever or the out of control savage spaniel.”

The incident has not been reported to Wiltshire Police.
