Man denies using machete to threaten another man on Cricklade industrial estate

A man denies using a machete to threaten another man in Cricklade last year.

Robert Lax, 29, gave no indication of plea when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (4 October).

The defendant, of Andersey Way, Abingdon, is accused of possessing a machete and affray on Windmill Farm Industrial Estate in Cricklade on 7 October 2020.

Keith Ballinger, prosecuting, alleged the blade was “waved around and used to threaten”.

The court agreed that the case was too serious to be dealt with by a magistrates’ court.

District judge Joanna Dickens adjourned the case to Swindon Crown Court on 5 November.

Mr Laz was released on bail, with conditions not to contact the alleged victim in this case.
