32-year-old man charged with attempted murder after Southwick disorder

A man will appear in court charged with attempted murder following a serious assault.

Emergency services were called to a large disorder at Southwick Village Hall on Wednesday evening (29 September).

Michael McDonagh, 32, of Henleaze Road, Bristol, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon (namely a slash hook), and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was arrested on Friday (01/10), subsequently charged and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (04/10).

The victim, a man in his 30s, has since been discharged from hospital.
