Two cats rescued from Swindon flat fire as air ambulance circles overhead

Firefighters have rescued two cats from a flat fire in Swindon.

Emergency services responded to reports of the fire in Bourne Road, Moredon, at around 7.20am this morning (17 September).

Whilst the fire itself was out on the arrival of the fire service, crews entered to bring the animals to safety.

Fire engines from Swindon and Stratton attended the incident alongside South Western Ambulance Service.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked to the scene, but was stood down on arrival – quickly returning to it’s Melksham base.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service believe the fire started accidentally.
