Manhunt underway for suspect after man stabbed in Swindon burglary

A manhunt is underway after a man was stabbed in his home this afternoon.

South Western Ambulance Service were called to Ashington House Surgery, Swindon, following reports of a man having been seriously injured.

On discovering the casualty, in his 40s, had suffered a stab wound during a burglary at his home, police backup was requested by medics.

Local officers, armed officers and a dog unit all attended the incident at around 2pm, with a crime scene cordoned off near his address in Affleck Close.

The victim was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment. His injuries aren’t said to be life-threatening.

No one has been arrested in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called shortly after 2pm today (05/05) by the ambulance service following what is believed to be an aggravated burglary at an address at Affleck Close, Swindon.

“A man in his 40s has been taken to Great Western Hospital with what is believed to be a stab wound but it is not believed his injuries are life threatening.

“A scene is in place at the address while our enquiries continue.

“No arrests have been made at this stage.”
