Firefighters from Swindon stations descend on David Murray John Tower

Over a dozen firefighters from three of Swindon’s fire stations descended on David Murray John Tower this morning for a training exercise.

Visitors to Swindon town centre were initially left concerned as a number of fire engines arrived at the scene of the imaginary blaze.

Firefighters from Swindon, Stratton and Westlea fire stations attended.

The full-scale training event was over by around 10.30am.
