Man launches x-rated rant during sentencing for making gun gesture at ex

A man convicted of making a gun gesture at the mother of his child launched an x-rated rant at the presiding district judge in court.

Alec Wells, 35, was repeatedly told to stop swearing as he was sentenced for breaching a non-molestation order at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning. He’d been found guilty at a trial on 19 March.

Crown prosecutor Ben Worthington said that on 22 September last year his victim has been with her mother on the school run when they returned home to see the defendant’s vehicle.

Concerned he was breaching the order imposed by the courts six months earlier, they stayed inside their vehicle and called the police.

Moments later, Wells, of Woodroffe Square, Calne, drove past them slowly with his window down and whilst staring at the pair, used his hand to gesture – mimicking a gun.

Representing himself, the defendant then launched into an x-rated rant.

“I’ve been screwed by the system in this country, I’ve been completely f**ked over”, he shouted from the dock.

District judge Joanna Dickens repeatedly asked him to refrain from swearing in court, but Wells continued to talk about his experience in the family court, where he was banned from seeing his son.

“Your system is a joke. Men like me, what are we meant to do? Do I have to commit suicide for you to listen?

“I lost at the family court, I’m not allowed to see my son. I’m a working man but I’m a danger to kids – ridiculous.

“I was at the top of the road, I don’t even know where she lives. I’ve not actually done anything.”

Judge Dickens sentenced him to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days. She also imposed a two-year restraining order.

He was told he cannot contact his victim directly or indirectly, except by order of the family court.

Leaving the dock, he shouted: “I would like to apologise for my language, but I’m a frustrated man.

“Why can a woman cheat on me and take my rights away as a father?”, he asked before walking out of the court shouting “b**locks”.
