Two air ambulances land in Swindon as road closed for serious medical incident

Two air ambulances have landed in central Swindon for a serious incident.

Emergency services were called to the scene, which is believed to be a medical emergency, in Great Western Way at around 1.20pm this afternoon.

The main has been closed both directions between Cockleberry Roundabout and Transfer Bridges.

Witnesses report seeing a casualty being given CPR on the carriageway.

Both Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Great Western Air Ambulance, from Bristol, are in attendance alongside several local ambulances crews and police.

The road is likely to remain closed for a number of hours whilst 999 crews work at the scene.
