Firefighters cut casualty from wreckage following crash near Marlborough

A man has been cut free from his vehicle following a collision near Marlborough.

The crash happened on Rockley Road – between Broad Hinton and Marlborough – at around 8.30pm yesterday evening, Saturday 16 July.

It’s understood that two other vehicles, a BMW 1 Series and Vauxhall Astra, were involved in the collision but did not stop at the scene to provide any assistance.

An off-duty police officer and a nurse stopped at the scene to help the injured driver.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that they dispatched two fire crews – one from Swindon and one from Stratton – to the scene, who extricated one casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment and stabilisation equipment.

Luckily, the driver of the vehicle suffered only minor injuries.
