Homeless man in court charged with hammer attack at Swindon hotel

A homeless man has today appeared in court accused of a hammer attack at a hotel.

Butch Sosa, 33, of no fixed abode, was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following the serious incident at the Swandown Hotel in Victoria Road, Swindon, on Tuesday, 16 March.

It’s alleged he entered a staff area of the hotel, took his victim – a man not known to the defendant – out of bed, put him in a headlock and hit him over the head with a hammer.
