Vulnerable woman from Manchester found by police officers after Wiltshire search

A vulnerable woman from Manchester has been found by police officers following a search in Wiltshire.

Police were called to reports of a 47-year-old woman having left an address in Devizes with a suitcase, but without any of her personal possessions, vital medication or a coat at around 4pm today.

Units, including members of the special constabulary (made up of volunteer police officers), were dispatched to locate her. An extensive search of the local area was undertaken.

She was found by officers at approximately 8.10pm and was returned to the address she is currently staying at — in Devizes.

The National Police Air Service helicopter was put on standby alongside Wiltshire Search and Rescue. Both were stood town before their deployment.
