Swindon road closed as emergency services respond to ‘man lying injured in road’

A Swindon road’s been closed after a man was found lying on the floor with injuries.

Emergency services attended the incident in Freshbrook Way at around 3.45pm following reports of a male pedestrian being found in the road.

It’s not yet clear how serious the man’s injuries are, or how he came to be in the road.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called at approximately 3.45pm today to an incident where a male pedestrian was found lying on Freshbrook Way.

“Ambulance are in attendance and are treating the man for suspected injuries.

“The incident is causing some traffic issues – please try and avoid the area while we continue to deal with this.”


UPDATE 5.35PM: Wiltshire Police say the man has been taken to Great Western Hospital with “what’s believed to be non-life threatening nor changing injuries”.

The road reopened shortly after 5.15pm.
