A man’s body has been found following a search operation in West Wiltshire.
Police and Wiltshire Search and Rescue teams, supported by the police helicopter, were involved in the major operation in the early hours of this morning (New Year’s Day).
The focus of the search was woodland near Shear Water, in Crockerton, Warminster.
The man, in his 30s, was pronounced dead on being found by the search team.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “Last night (December 31) we received a report that a man in his 30s had gone missing in the Warminster area.
“Searches of the local area were carried out and, sadly, a body of a man was located this morning in woodland in Crockerton.
“His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
“His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will now be prepared for HM Coroner.”
