Woman suffers potentially life-changing injuries being hit by car in Highworth

A road in Highworth was closed overnight following a serious road traffic collision.

Emergency services were called to the scene in St Michael’s Avenue at around 10.30pm yesterday, where a woman was struck by a car.

Wiltshire Police said she suffered “potentially life-changing injuries”.

Police taped off the area as a crime scene whilst specialist collision investigators and roads policing officers worked to establish the circumstances around the crash.

A police drone pilot was called to the incident, providing support from the sky.

It is not believed any arrests were made.

The road was closed – between Home Farm and Windrush – until the early hours of this morning.
