20-year-old woman suffers life-threatening injuries in crash near Devizes

A 20-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash near Devizes.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle collision at around 8.30pm yesterday on the A361 at Caen Hill, Devizes.

A Mazda MX5 left the road and overturned onto its roof in a ditch near Marsh Lane. The two occupants of the car were treated by Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics.

The 19-year-old male driver was taken to the Royal United Hospital with minor injuries.

His 20-year-old female passenger was taken to Southmead Hospital with suspected life-threatening/life-changing injuries.

The road was closed for approximately seven hours to allow for collision investigation work, reopening in the early hours of this morning, at 3.45am.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have heard or seen this incident to contact Wiltshire Police on 101 quoting reference number 54200113832.
