Firefighters attend house fire in Calne — one person treated by paramedics

Firefighters are currently in attendance of a fire at a house in Calne.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Churchill Close at around 5pm this evening.

Fire crews from Calne and Devizes are at the incident, with one person — believed to have suffered the effects of smoke inhalation — being treated by paramedics.

The road is blocked in both directions by fire and ambulance vehicles. The road is likely to reopen by 6.30pm.

Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) was used to clear the property of smoke.
