Police helicopter called in to assist in search for wanted suspect in Trowbridge

The police helicopter was called in to search part of Trowbridge yesterday afternoon following a possible sighting of a wanted man.

Police offices swarmed the Hilperton Marina area in search of the male at around 12.30pm, with the National Police Air Service chopper assisting overhead.

The helicopter was in the area for around 45 minutes, but despite a thorough search, the suspect wasn’t found.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “At around 12.30pm yesterday there was a possible sighting in the Hilperton area of Trowbridge of a man who is wanted by police.

“Officers, supported by the National Police Air Service, carried out a thorough search of the area, but unfortunately he was not located.”
