Emergency flood defences will be deployed in Bradford on Avon today ahead of predicted flooding, the Environment Agency has confirmed.

The River Avon’s water level is expected to rise in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for the agency said: “We will soon deploy temporary flood defence barriers in Bradford-on-Avon as the forecast indicates a rise in river level in the early hours of Sunday 4 October.”
