Knife held to man’s neck during street robbery in west Swindon

A man has handed over £100 in cash during an armed robbery in a west Swindon street.

The incident happened around 1am on Friday 2 June near Kingscote Close.

The victim was getting out of his car when an unknown male, wearing a hood up and scarf covering his face, approached him and said: “Walk or I’ll shank you.”.

The victim was then walked to a nearby alleyway/footpath where two other males, dressed in black with their faces obscured, were waiting.

One of the males then held a knife to the victim’s neck and demanded “all his money.” He then handed over about £100 in cash. Although shaken, the victim was unhurt.

PC Conrad Ball said: “We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in this area at this time.

“Although this was a disturbing incident which will concern anyone living in the area we want to reassure people that we believe the victim was targeted specifically.”
