A suicidal man jumped into a lake in Swindon this evening in a mental health incident
South Western Ambulance Service were called to the scene at around 7pm following a call from a member of the public reporting coming across a male in distress next to the water’s edge.
It’s believed the man had been in the small lake alongside a footpath between Shaftesbury Avenue and The Drive.
A witness told Wiltshire 999s that it appeared he had self-extricated from the water.
The man is now in the care of paramedics and is being transferred to Great Western Hospital for assessment.
