Teenager arrested after boy stabbed multiple times at house party in Corsham

A teenage boy has been stabbed multiple times in a fight at a house party in Corsham.

Police were called to the disturbance at an address on Poynder Road, which backs onto Valley Road at just after 11pm yesterday.

A 16-year-old boy suffered stab wounds, said to be superficial. He was taken to the the Royal United Hospital for treatment, but his injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening.

Wiltshire Police says a 17-year-old local male was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and is currently in custody.

Det Sgt Sam Hopkins said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this assault or may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this area yesterday evening – around this time.

“I appreciate Corsham is a close knit community and any news like this will be disturbing. However, I want to reassure people that those involved did know each other and we have a suspect in custody.
