Police helicopter circles West Swindon in search of high-risk missing person

A missing person has been found in West Swindon with the help of the police helicopter.

Officers were first alerted to the young female’s disappearance at around 7.30pm this evening. Classified as high-risk during an assessment, police launched an immediate search.

The search was focused in the Lydiard Park area, with officers on foot, on bicycles and in cars involved in the operation to locate her safe.

The National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter circled Windmill Hill Business Park at around 8.45pm, helping locate the young female on the site within just over an hour of the search commencing.

She was taken to a police car parked in Hook Street and later returned to her home address.
