Air ambulance medics called for cyclist injured in collision on A361 in Devizes

A cyclist has been injured in a road traffic collision on the A361 in Devizes tonight.

Emergency services were called to the scene of what is suspected to be a hit-and-run collision on the dual carriageway at Caen Hill, near the junction with Poulshot, at around 10.10pm.

Critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the scene in a rapid response vehicle.

The male casualty was taken to hospital at around 11.10pm. His condition is currently unknown, but his injuries aren’t believed to be serious.

Wiltshire 999s understands that a number of passersby stopped to help the man following the crash, wrapping him in a blanket before the emergency services arrived at the incident.

One lane on the A361 is closed westbound as police investigate the circumstances of the crash.
